Homework 10-22-10 part 2: Civil War

The Civil war in Sudan was caused by a power struggle between the North and South parts of Sudan. This started because when Sudan merged into one country a lot of the power was given to the North. The South felt resentful and fought back. This created the conflict that made the lost boys run away. Also a drought in the North caused more want for the land in the South increasing tensions. The conflict first started in 1983 and lasted 22 years. About 2 million were killed and 4 million deprived of their homes. This was an ugly war due to the casualties and the people it left homeless like the lost boys.
